Life Principles

A Reflection

I am a  person who rides the wind of life without worries.
I've no plans for the future, just plans for the present.

This blog is reserved for an in depth analysis and reflection to the famous religious literary piece, The Book of Matthew. The piece not only teaches you to be a person whose mind is focused on righteousness, but it also teaches you how to live the life of which God sees fit. It is a book containing the basic life principles of which everyone should follow and reflect on. As a Roman Catholic, the message of the piece was not new to my ears, because I often hear it on Sunday masses and in the religious academic subject we had in elementary where every quarter, a portion of the book is being discussed in class. What's not new to me is the realization of what every line, every sentence, and every paragraph really means.

Another thing that struck me is how these principles are to be exercised in our daily lives. Normally as a child, I would've thought that the way to exercise these principles, are to be kind 24/7. As a 15 year old, I've realized that these principles could be applied to real life by being right and just. Not just kind, but right and just. I've realized that being righteous and just outshines being kind and generous in every way. Even if the other person sees it as unequal treatment, the important thing is that you know that what you did is right and just in the eyes of the lord, and that is when you realize that you have done what God would've wanted you to do.

As a Pisay Scholar, smarts and intelligence aren't enough to make you a successful person, attitude and purity of will added with correct discipline does. Smarts and intelligence alone wouldn't make you a person of success, righteous attitude alone also is not enough. Add these two and the result would be a successful scholar excelling in mind and in spirit. This is my personal reflection to the literary piece called: "The Book of Matthew". Thank you very much for your time and see you next time.
